Two Bay Area restaurants have plenty to celebrate after they were recently named among the best pizzerias around the world.

Earlier this month, the annual ranking 50 Top Pizza released its complete guide to the top pizzerias around the globe, which included San Francisco based Tony’s Pizza Napoletana as a top 10 spot at No. 10 and ranked Doppio Zero at No. 89, both among a fraction of U.S. restaurants mentioned in the overall world rank. (Doppio Zero has locations in San Francisco, Mountain View and Concord.)

“Yesterday was a very special day for our entire team here at Tony’s,” Tony’s Pizza Napoletana wrote on Instagram. “[Chef-owner Tony Gemignani] and [restaurant manager Natale Cardamone] attended the @50toppizza awards ceremony in Naples where Tony took home three awards: Pizza Maker of the Year, Source of Inspiration and #10 in the World Best Pizzeria.”

50 Top Pizza, an Italian based media company, praised the North Beach pizzeria for its mixed menu of ranging pizza styles, such as pizza Romana.

Doppio Zero was honored for its traditional Neapolitan-style pizzas and classic homemade pasta, too.

More Bay Area pizzerias were honored in a separate top 50 pizzerias in the U.S. that also featured Tony’s Pizza Napoletana?and Doppio Zero in addition to A16, Del Popolo and Flour + Water. At the national level, Tony’s Pizza Napoletana took the No. 2 spot, just behind Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City. Doppio Zero also came in high at No. 15.

The honor comes as more Bay Area restaurants were recognized in other top 50 awards this month. Good Good 竞技宝app Club and Daytrip were both included in Bon Appetit’s 50 Best New Restaurants list while Abacá, Little Saint and San Ho Won were among the best restaurants in a New York Times list.
